YARN ALONG // DEADLINES

Joining in with Ginny for the Yarn along.
I love to read. I love to knit. Here's a little bit about both.

So it would seem I have a big issue. I love to read and to knit, but I haven't found a way to do both at once! And because I have been way too obsessed about the Outlander series (just started book 8!!), I haven't been able to knit as much as I wanted. Today is the 29th and I only have 2 days left to finish my October pair of socks and my Shwook hat, both part of a knit along. Maybe I should stop sleeping? Or move on to audio books? Hmm I guess I'm lucky it's my biggest problem at the moment right :)

You might think my Shwook hat looks kind of different from the last time I talked about it. It is. The color work just didn't work for me and I knew i would end up not wearing the hat. So I started over! SO glad I did! I'm super in love with my Shwook 2.0! I'm pretty sure I will finish it today since I have 10 rows or so left only. Will share the final result here next week!
As for my pair of October socks, number one has been done for 2 weeks and I have the foot portion left on sock number two. Not sure I will be done in time! Wish me luck? :)

Reading! So, Outlander (of course!). I also got a copy of a magazine I've heard a lot about. It's called Frankie, it's a lifestyle, craft, photography and art Australian magazine and it's awesome! You should check it out!

  1. The mustard and blue and grey is gorgeous! All my favourite colours for this autumn rolled into one. Love it.

I'm not really into audio books, so I reckon stop sleeping is the way to go lol

  2. I really love those socks!

I find that if I can prop a book open in front of me (using a paperweight or some random object like my cellphone) then I can knit and read at the same time. :) Especially since your socks only have patterning on the front you could read while you knit the back stitches, then pause while you knit the front if you have to!

  3. I love the colors of your hat! And I so know the feeling before deciding to rip, you can be proud that you did it!

  4. I have the same problem - not enough time to fit in the different hobbies and wish I could do two things at once.

  5. Wow, I love both of those projects. Looks like you're almost done your Shwook - glad you've found a colour combination you're happier with - though I seem to remember really liking the other one too. Happy knitting!

  6. Audio books are lifesavers, especially if your local library has a good selection of online copies! Good luck with your knitting (thought I spy through your instagram that you finished your hat - yay!).

  8. I love the Fair Isle hat, and the socks, which look like hard work. I have heard of that magazine, I think because it is also my daughter's name, but have not managed to get it in the UK.

  9. beauuuutiful knitting! I am not a big fan of audio books, which makes me sad because it is the smart way to go when you want to knit and read at the same time.
Maybe I haven't found the voice I like yet.
    have a great day! xoxo

  10. Et est-ce que tu as déjà pensé à écouter des livres? Ca te permettrait de tricoter en même temps.... beaucoup de tricoteuses le font, jamais essayé pour ma part mais ça pourrait peut-être te plaire...

  13. I do love the colours you have chosen! I'm seeing mustard everywhere at the moment, it sure beats the fashion for grey this last year.
